The Cisco Catalyst 6500 4-Port 10 GB Ethernet Module requires XENPAKS and is optimized for deployment in distribution hubs and network cores, bringing high speed optics to any difficult network via a 40 Gbps or 80 Gbps full duplex switch fabric connection. The switch will make fiber optics more convenient for XENPAK users as it is compatible wiith all open expansion slots in any 6503-E, 6504-E, 6506, 6506-E, 6509, 6509-E, 6509-NEB-A, Cisco 7604, 7607 or 7609 chassis and slots 9 through 13 in 6513 or 7613 chassis. It has detailed multi-color indicators that lets you know when ports are disabled or whether the module is booting. It's ideal in high demand IT implementations as the centralized forwarding or optional distributed forwarding with a compatible Cisco DFC card and Deficit Weighted Round Robin scheduling allows this Cisco Catalyst interface card to excel.
