  • This RAID Controller card is used in personal computers, work stations and other computers to protect critical business data stored on the system's SATA and SAS Hard drives. The RAID Controller comes with data transfer rates of up to 6Gb/s per port, and the 9260-8i card brings new features and improved performance, while continuing to support all features of the previous 3Gb/s SATA+SAS generation. This 9260-8i RAID Card has value line controllers, ideal for inside-the box connectivity, employ the latest in RAID-on-Chip technology, comply with the PCI Express 2.0 specification, and provide additional data security using LSI SafeStore encryption services which offer instant secure erase and local key management* for self-encrypting drives (SEDs). This technology represents a significant step forward in securing a drives data from any unauthorized access or modification resulting from theft, loss, or repurposing of drives. Instant secure erase permanently removes data when repurposing or decommissioning SEDs. SafeStore local key management provides the necessary management and protection of SEDs using a simple pass phrase, security key identifier, and security key file, which can be set and applied to all SEDs assigned to a MegaRAID controller. This removes the complexity of managing each SEDs unique encryption key, and relieves the administrator from many of the daily tasks of securing data. This RAID Controller can be used in NIO64 Z820 computer, Z800 Computer, C2 chipset and BIOS3.21 systems.
