If you shoot on a Nikon camera—like the Z6 II, Z8, or D850—and feel intimidated by the complex menus, dials, and screens of traditional wireless flash triggers, the Profoto Connect is designed specifically for you. It is a completely button-free wireless transmitter that strips away all the technical friction of using off-camera flash.

Looking more like a sleek, miniature hockey puck than a traditional trigger, the Connect operates using a single twisting motion. You simply slide it onto your Nikon hot shoe and twist the top ring to one of three settings: Auto (TTL), Manual, or Off. It is the ultimate "set it and forget it" tool, allowing you to focus entirely on interacting with your subject rather than staring down at a glowing screen on top of your camera.

• Zero Buttons, Zero Menus: The Connect eliminates the learning curve of off-camera flash. There is nothing to program or dial in on the trigger itself. Just twist the pod to "Auto" and start shooting.

• Point-and-Shoot Flash (Auto): In Auto mode, it acts as a flawless TTL (Through-The-Lens) transmitter. Your Nikon camera and the Profoto light communicate instantly to calculate the perfect flash exposure for every single frame, even if your subject is moving in and out of the light.

• Seamless Transition to Manual: Once you get a great exposure in Auto, you can twist the Connect to "Manual." It will instantly lock in the exact power setting from your last Auto shot. From there, your light output remains 100% consistent.

• App Integration: While the physical trigger has no buttons, it is fully equipped with Bluetooth AirX. If you want to tweak your manual power settings from across the room, simply open the free Profoto Control App on your smartphone to make precise adjustments.

• Built-in Rechargeable Battery: No more hunting for spare AA batteries. The Connect features a built-in lithium-polymer battery that provides up to 30 hours of continuous use, and easily recharges via a standard USB-C port.

The absolute simplicity of the Profoto Connect is its greatest strength, but it is important to understand its limitations for complex setups. Because there is no screen, you cannot adjust flash power groups directly from the camera hot-shoe. If you are running a multi-light setup (e.g., a key light on Group A and a rim light on Group B) and want to adjust their power independently, you must use your smartphone and the Profoto app to make those granular changes.

Additionally, Nikon mirrorless shooters (like those using the Z-series) should remember that most Nikon cameras disable hot-shoe flash firing when set to Silent Shooting (Electronic Shutter). If your Connect isn't firing your lights, ensure your camera is set to use the mechanical or electronic front-curtain shutter.
