By utilizing an innovative reverse Porro prism design, Nikon managed to keep the binoculars exceptionally compact without sacrificing the rich, three-dimensional depth of field that Porro prisms are known for. They are not nitrogen-purged, meaning they cannot be safely submerged in water, and the internal lenses may temporarily fog up if you move rapidly from a heavily air-conditioned room into a hot, humid outdoor environment.

Finally, individuals who wear thick eyeglasses should be aware of the short 11.1mm eye relief. To see the entire, un-vignetted 262-foot field of view, you may need to fold down the rubber eyecups and press the binoculars quite close to your eyeglass lenses.
