Is this an OEM Mellanox/NVIDIA part?

No. This is an aftermarket-manufactured equivalent, not a genuine NVIDIA/Mellanox product. It is built to the same mounting footprint and rack depth range as the OEM MTEF-KIT-J.

Why is MTEF-KIT-J hard to find right now?

Rail kits are low-margin, high-volume accessories that get deprioritized whenever a switch platform's manufacturing allocation tightens, and secondary-market chassis frequently arrive without theirs. Demand tracks every switch shipped; supply does not. We manufacture this kit ourselves to help relieve that bottleneck.

Is this the same as MTEF-KIT-C?

No — and this is the most common mix-up in this family. MTEF-KIT-C is a separate, genuine NVIDIA part: OPN 930-9BRKT-00JF-000, the static rack installation kit for 200G 1U systems, meaning the QM8700 and QM8790 HDR InfiniBand switches. This listing is MTEF-KIT-J (930-9NRKT-00JN-000), which covers the Spectrum-2 and Spectrum-3 Ethernet platforms listed above. Both are real, current parts and they are not interchangeable by part number. If you are racking a Quantum HDR switch, contact us rather than ordering this kit.

Is this a sliding rail kit?

No. MTEF-KIT-J is a fixed/static mount — the chassis bolts into position and does not extend out of the rack for front servicing. The telescopic equivalent in this family is MTEF-KIT-F (930-9BRKT-00JJ-000), which is a different part.

Why do I see two different depth ranges quoted for this part?

Because NVIDIA publishes two. The SN4000 manual describes OPN 930-9NRKT-00JN-000 as covering 430–800mm depth racks; the SN3000 manual describes the identical OPN as standard-depth, 600–800mm. The likeliest reading is that 430–800mm is the kit's mechanical span and 600–800mm is the range NVIDIA characterizes as standard depth. Above 600mm every NVIDIA source agrees.
