MATEnet Connecting Cables

A staple cable used in automotive and industrial R&D because it serves as the "missing link" for the latest high-speed communication standards. While standard RJ-45 clips are prone to breaking and aren't vibration-resistant, the MATEnet system used in this harness is "Automotive Grade."

·       The shift toward 1000BASE-T1:

o   This harness supports the IEEE 802.3bp standard, which allows for 1 Gbps data rates over just a single unshielded twisted pair. (UTP)

o   By using only two wires instead of eight, manufacturers significantly reduce vehicle weight and cabling complexity.

·       The physical robustness of the TE MATEnet connector:

o   It uses the NanoMQS terminal system, which is much smaller than traditional connectors, allowing for higher port density on Electronic Control Units (ECUs).

o   It is designed to withstand the high-vibration, high-temperature environment of an engine bay or an industrial floor.

o   The twist rate and connector design are optimized to prevent electromagnetic interference.

·       It’s role in bridging the gap between vehicle ECUs and standard testing equipment:

o   Used to connect a vehicle's ECU to a Media Converter. Allowing them to "translate" the car's single-pair signal into a standard RJ-45 signal.

o   plug-and-play solution for testing Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), LIDAR, and 360° camera feeds.
