The HPE Aruba AP-515 (Q9H63A) is a brand-new, high-capacity Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) campus access point built for dense enterprise environments. It pairs a 4x4:4 MIMO 5 GHz radio with a 2x2:2 2.4 GHz radio for up to 5.4 Gbps of aggregate throughput, adds an HPE SmartRate 2.5GbE uplink so the wired side never becomes the bottleneck, and includes built-in Bluetooth 5 and Zigbee radios for IoT. As a Unified AP it runs controller-managed, as a controller-less Aruba Instant AP, or under Aruba Central.
Key Features
- Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) dual radio: 4x4:4 MIMO on 5 GHz, 2x2:2 MIMO on 2.4 GHz
- Up to 4.8 Gbps (5 GHz) and 574 Mbps (2.4 GHz) — 5.4 Gbps aggregate peak data rate
- OFDMA and uplink/downlink MU-MIMO for high client density and lower latency
- HPE SmartRate 2.5GbE uplink (E0) plus a second 10/100/1000BASE-T port (E1) with LACP link aggregation
- Four integrated dual-band downtilt omni-directional antennas (4.2 dBi at 2.4 GHz, 7.5 dBi at 5 GHz)
- Built-in Bluetooth 5 and Zigbee (802.15.4) IoT radio, plus a USB 2.0 host port (5W)
- Intelligent Power Monitoring: full feature set on 802.3at/bt, graceful operation on 802.3af
- Unified AP — deploys as a controller-managed campus AP, an Aruba Instant AP, or via Aruba Central
- UL2043 plenum rated and TAA compliant; Aruba limited lifetime warranty

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Aruba AP-515 require a controller?
No. It is a Unified AP, so it can run as a controller-managed campus AP, as a controller-less Aruba Instant AP, or be managed from Aruba Central.
What PoE does the AP-515 need?
802.3at (PoE+) is recommended, with a 20.8W maximum draw. It will also operate on 802.3af, where Intelligent Power Monitoring scales back selected functions to stay within budget.
Does it include a PoE injector or mount kit?
The AP ships with its standard mount clip. PoE injectors, AC adapters, and specialty mount kits are ordered separately.
How does the AP-515 differ from the AP-505?
The AP-515 uses a 4x4:4 5 GHz radio and a 2.5GbE SmartRate uplink, versus 2x2:2 and 1GbE on the AP-505, giving it substantially more capacity for dense deployments.
Is this unit new or refurbished?
This HPE Aruba AP-515 (Q9H63A) is brand new, factory-sealed stock.
