The HP Color LaserJet Enterprise MFP X677dn (6QQ01A#BGJ) is the base model of HP's X677 line. It prints, copies and scans in color on letter, legal and A4 paper. Fax and wireless are optional add-ons.

  • Speed: 55 pages a minute on letter and 52 on A4, in color or black. An optional HP speed license raises that to 65 and 61.
  • Scanning: a 150-sheet feeder reads both sides in one pass.
  • Power: a quad-core 1.6 GHz processor, 6 GB of memory and a 500 GB drive.
  • Workload: a duty cycle of up to 180,000 pages a month.
  • Flow tools: built-in OCR and the other Flow scanning tools are on the z models.
  • Screen: the dn has an 8-inch touchscreen. The z models have a 10.1-inch one.
  • Stapler: the output tray holds 500 sheets, with no stapler stacker.
  • Paper: it starts with 650 sheets, a 100-sheet tray and a 550-sheet tray.

You can add up to three 550-sheet trays, or a 2,100-sheet high-capacity tray with a stand. The most paper it can hold is 3,300 sheets.

The cartridges in the box are smaller, at about 9,000 pages for black and 5,000 for each color. The four imaging drums, W9280MC to W9283MC, are rated at about 150,000 pages each. HP says the printer works only with cartridges that carry a new or reused HP chip.

Printing draws about 816 watts. The power supply is built for 110 V or 220 V, not both, and the part number sets which. The #BGJ ending marks the U.S. version.
