For applications requiring high starting torque, closed-loop speed regulation, and robust multi-duty ratings, the Fuji Electric FRN700G1S-4U is a FRENIC-MEGA (G1) series high-performance variable frequency drive (VFD) for 460V three-phase applications, rated at 700 HP / 840A (Light Duty), 600 HP / 740A (Medium Duty), 500 HP / 650A (Heavy Duty).

The FRENIC-MEGA (G1) is Fuji Electric's flagship high-performance drive platform, delivering advanced vector control across a wide speed range. In sensorless vector mode, it achieves up to 150% starting torque at 0.5 Hz without an encoder. Closed-loop vector control with an optional encoder card achieves up to 200% starting torque and ±0.01% speed regulation. Torque control mode is also supported for tension-controlled winding applications.

The built-in PLC function enables simple sequencing and logic directly in the drive, reducing panel component count. Additional features: instantaneous power failure ride-through, multi-duty ratings (Light/Medium/Heavy), DC bus sharing, droop control, S-curve acceleration, and comprehensive diagnostics. RS-485 Modbus RTU standard; optional PROFIBUS-DP, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, and CC-Link cards.

High-performance applications for the FRN700G1S-4U include winders, uncoilers, and tension-controlled applications, large industrial compressors and process blowers, and machine tool and machining center spindles.
