How is this different from R640 #2?
Storage only. This build uses four 1.92TB SSDs (about 7.7TB raw) instead of four 2TB SAS hard drives, for much faster random I/O.
Can you build more of this configuration?
Yes. If this unit sells, we build the same spec to order, typically shipping in 1–2 business days.
Can I add a GPU?
Yes, a low-profile one. Dell supports the NVIDIA T4 16GB in the R640: up to three cards with both processors installed. Each draws 70W from its slot, so no GPU power cables are needed. Double-width cards like the A40 or V100 won't fit a 1U chassis, so see our R740xd GPU builds for those. Tell us your card and we'll confirm the fit.
What warranty applies?
The Resilient Tec lifetime warranty. If something fails, we send an advance replacement when we have one in stock, or repair or replace it with an equivalent.
