At its core, the V1 features a newly developed 1.4-inch type CMOS sensor (significantly larger than the 1-inch sensors typically found in compacts). This larger sensor allows for stunning dynamic range, massive improvements in low-light performance, and the ability to capture incredibly sharp 22.3-megapixel still photos when you aren't filming.
