Dell PowerEdge R840 / R940 / C6420 SSD PCIe NVMe Extender Expansion Card (High-Profile). P/N: YN9K8, 0YN9K8.

This is a genuine Dell PowerEdge R840 / R940 / C6420 SSD PCIe NVMe Extender Expansion Card (High-Profile) (P/N: YN9K8, 0YN9K8, UCEA-200, 0101EM000-000-G). This specialized adapter card is crucial for maximizing high-performance storage in Dell's flagship PowerEdge R840, R940, and C6420 servers. It functions as an NVMe extender, allowing these servers to utilize a greater number of high-speed PCIe NVMe SSDs, particularly in configurations where direct NVMe connectivity is limited or dedicated NVMe drives are preferred over traditional SAS/SATA. The high-profile design ensures compatibility with standard full-height PCIe slots. By providing additional PCIe lanes and connectivity for NVMe drives, this expansion card is essential for workloads demanding extremely high I/O throughput and low latency, such as big data analytics, in-memory databases, and high-performance computing (HPC) applications, ensuring your server infrastructure can handle the most intensive storage demands.
