The listed configuration provides 20 10GE interfaces and six 100GE interfaces, giving network architects a clearly defined platform for dense aggregation, backbone, and data-center connectivity. This model is suited to infrastructure projects that require a substantial combination of 10GbE and 100GbE ports within one Catalyst 8500 system. Because high-speed interfaces must align with optics, cabling, software, power, and network topology, buyers should validate the complete deployment design before ordering.

Key Features

20 listed 10GE interfaces

Six listed 100GE interfaces

Cisco Catalyst 8500 platform

Designed for high-capacity network switching

Suitable for aggregation and service-edge deployments

Product Specifications

Part Number: C8500-20X6C

Manufacturer: Cisco

Platform Family: Catalyst 8500

10GE Interfaces: 20

100GE Interfaces: 6

Component Type: Network switch

High-Speed Switching Specifications

The port mix combines a large group of 10GE interfaces with six 100GE interfaces, giving planners multiple options for connecting aggregation links and higher-capacity uplinks. The configuration is relevant to network designs that need to scale bandwidth while keeping several interface speeds within the same switching platform.

Use Cases

Supporting high-density aggregation networks

Connecting 10GE access or distribution links

Building 100GE backbone or uplink paths

Replacing or expanding a compatible Catalyst 8500 deployment

Compatibility

The C8500-20X6C is identified for Cisco Catalyst 8500 environments.
